My best eagles experience has to be when my family and I went to the 2006 grand final.
As that final siren blew, we all jumped up and down with the excitement that our boys won the flag. As I was jumping up and down with joy, I turned around to look at the crowds reaction. The guys behind us were also eagles fans and were doing the same as us. The guy behind all of a sudden just grabbed me and gave me this almighty hug. I looked at my husband who was standing next me with this "what are you doing'' look on his face, when I thought, what the hell and gave this total stranger a hug back. My husband and family thought I was crazy. But have to say what a day.
We all went back to a little restaurant in Southbank’s in Melbourne afterwards. The whole restaurant was full of jubilant Eagles Fans. After a while this little man came around and said that we should all sing the Eagles song, and at the count of three - the whole restaurant started with the Eagles song.
It was an awesome feeling. To use the Dockers saying, we all felt the PASSION.
I hope you enjoy this story as much as I enjoyed the day.
