After missing the opening two matches of the season, Edwards was exactly the player the Roos' needed in round three. He made his presence felt and helped the club secure its first win of the season.

Edwards was a consistent goal scorer in his first seven games, but fell victim to the team's poor form against the Bulldogs and was dropped to the VFL with North Ballarat.

While his form with the Roosters was strong, Edwards spent six weeks at VFL level before returning against Richmond in round 16. Four goals against Essendon and three against the Eagles allowed him to finish the season strongly.

Edwards kicked goals in all but two of his fourteen games, but will face strong competition for a regular spot in 2011 with the return of Drew Petrie and the emergence of Ben Warren and Sam Wright.

AFL.com.au’s Steve Lavell says: Worked harder in games to have a greater impact outside the forward 50, though his best football came closer to goal. Too small for a key position but remains the side's best marking target. Clearly has a future.

Highlights: Round 3 v West Coast - 15 possessions, 10 marks, 2 goals

Round 17 v Essendon - 15 possessions, 7 marks, 4 goals

Too small for a key position, yet is our best marking target...some blokes are purely forwards. Edwards had no problems kicking 120ish goals for Frankston in a season. Leave him 1 out 20m from goal and watch him slot 50-70 of the best.

Trent - September 13th
Has he been contracted for next year? I feel as though he would be very handy as a leading forward from the goal square. Safe hands and improved stamina.

Luke - September 13th
I think they always look better with Edwards in the team. He is someone capable of the spectacular and deserves better opportunities.

Hamish - September 13th
Fantastic mark and can kick goals-VFL 2007 leading goal kicker. More defensive pressure in the forward line and he becomes North's equivalent to Chappy at the cattery.

Filda - September 13th
Fantastic player but feel that he's not getting the credit he deserve!! Given more opportunities I believe he can live up to the higher expectation that expected of him!! Looking forward to seeing more speckyzzs from him next year!! Good luck Edwards!!

Joey - September 13th
Shud Always be in the side!!! Def in best 22.

Ross - September 13th
played well up the ground but would love to have him stay in the goalsquare as a go to player when nothing else on.

The Warden - September 13th
Adds some x-factor to our forward line but is still inconsistent, another 1-year contract beckons.

Adrian - September 13th
Steve Lavell is correct in saying he is our best marking target however clearly not understanding that through necessity Edwards was played out of position throughout the year .. He could clearly be a key position player esp full forward similar to JPod, with a game plan structured towards a permanent forward line he would be a gun full forward , dont forget he kicked 100 goals in the VFL .. Great one grab mark especially on the lead .. Who would beat him one out inside 50 , esp on a turnover .. C'mon Brad Scott give it a try , at the least he's goin to set it up for thomas , & campbell.. Go Rooboys..
