Watch coach Mick Malthouse announce the 'McDonald's Mighty Footy Trip' at Gosch's Paddock on Wednesday

The MCG can expect a mass migration of young football fans on May 17 with McDonald’s® announcing a competition which will see 200 children spend the ultimate day out at the ‘G.

Launched today by Collingwood coach Mick Malthouse, McDonald’s first ever ‘Mighty Footy Trip’ competition is open to children aged eight to 13, and will see the 200 winners from across Victoria and Tasmania (along with their parent / adult guardian) experience a jam-packed schedule at the home of AFL.

Mick Malthouse said, “McDonald’s Mighty Footy Trip is a wonderful opportunity to turn a child’s dream of watching a football game at the MCG into a reality.”

On Sunday, May 17, winners will board the McDonald’s Mighty Footy Trip bus to the MCG where they’ll receive a rev up from a Collingwood coach.

From there, the young winners will take part in a pre-match footy clinic held on the hallowed MCG turf with select Magpie players, followed by refreshments, activities and entertainment. Finally, the group will enjoy reserved seats to watch the Round eight showdown between Collingwood and Carlton. McDonald’s will provide transportation by bus to and from the MCG from 11 regional centres across Victoria, with same day return flights for winners from Tasmania and Mildura.

For the chance to win this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity, entrants will need to explain in 25 words or less why they should have the chance to join the McDonald’s Mighty Footy Trip. Entry forms will be available in every participating McDonald’s restaurant from 3 – 24 April. Terms and conditions are available in-store.
