THE SYDNEY Swans have confirmed that spearhead Barry Hall has suffered a broken wrist and will undergo surgery on Monday afternoon.

Hall, 31, crashed into the fence at ANZ Stadium on Saturday night in the final term of the Swans' 62-point win over West Coast.

He was left with a lacerated head and injured wrist when a sponsorship sign gave way.

The club has not issued an expected layoff time for Hall, and has "nothing further to say on the matter at this stage" except that x-rays have confirmed a break in the right wrist.

Hall was also reported for striking Eagle Brent Staker during the match.
