Following the success of its visit in 2009, North Melbourne will return to the home of the Werribee Tigers on Monday for an open training session

The Roos have a strong VFL alignment with Werribee and Kangaroos’ chief of football Donald McDonald says the players are looking forward to seeing their fans in the West again.

“We’re very excited to be coming back out to Werribee on Monday. We did it last year and it was a great success for our club, the Tigers and the local community,” he told kangaroos.com.au.

There promises to be high intensity level at training with Brad Scott enjoying the luxury of almost a full list to choose from ahead of round one. But it could also provide an opportunity for one of the club's raft of youngsters to step up to the plate.

“No only will it provide a chance for the locals to come and see the competition’s superstars like Brent Harvey and Drew Petrie, but it will also give them a chance to see the new kids which have been aligned to their club like Jamie MacMillan, Ayden Kennedy and the AFL’s first African-born recruit Majak Daw.”

Daw has already become a cult figure at the Kangaroos.

“Majak has shown great potential since coming to North Melbourne via the rookie draft in late 2009. He is a great size, a tremendous athlete and an extremely impressive young man. We look forward to further developing him through the VFL this year.”
