Adelaide will be without star midfielder Tyson Edwards for Saturday afternoon's AAMI Stadium clash with Carlton.

Edwards rolled his ankle at the end of Monday's training session and wasn't able to train on Friday. Hayden Skipworth will take his place in the side.

Edwards rolled the ankle jogging back to the rooms after the club's recovery session in The Crows Shed on Monday afternoon.

"We didn't think it was too bad at the time," coach Neil Craig told afc.com.au. "He's not far off but he's not good enough to play."
