Three Sydney Swans players have been named in the extendedsquad of 40 players short-listed for the 2007 All-Australian team.

Craig Bolton, Brett Kirk and Nick Malceski were named in the extended squad,with the final team of 22 to be announced on September 17.

Malceski is one of 22 players in the 40-man squad who have never previously wonAll Australian selection.  Bolton wasnamed in the 2006 All-Australian team, and Kirk was awarded the honour in 2004.

"All Australian selection is recognition for a tremendous year offootball, as the best player in your position across the entirecompetition,"  AFL CEO Andrew Demetriou said.

"All Australian selection is also a recognition of the quality of thoseplayers you have competed against, to win your spot, and the aim of thisapproach is to highlight the outstanding players who are in contention forselection, and those who eventually win out to claim a position as one of theelite players of the season," he said.

The All Australian selection panel is: Andrew Demetriou(chairman), Adrian Anderson, Rod Austin, Kevin Bartlett, Mark Bickley, GerardHealy, Chris Mainwaring, Robert Walls.
