WESTERN Bulldogs forward Barry Hall is recovering well from his recent ankle operation but is yet to commence running, according to coach Rodney Eade.
Hall, 32, had an arthroscopic clean out three weeks ago after he officially became a Bulldog in the October trade period this year.
While the former Sydney Swan is currently completing training sessions with his new teammates at Whitten Oval, he is yet to graduate from a walking program.
"He's not running yet. He'll be able to run in about a week," Eade said on Monday. "He's been walking pain free from the start and he wants to run, but the doctors are holding him back at the moment.
"He's doing everything else, all the cross training, and he's been in the pool as well.
"He looks extremely fit and he's probably a couple of kilos lighter than what he played at but he's fine. We're thrilled with what's happened with the operation."
Hall, a 250-game and 611-goal veteran, is set to add another element to the Dogs' forward structure next year.
