COLLINGWOOD captain Scott Burns has declared himself  "100 per cent" certain to face St Kilda in Saturday night's semi-final after training strongly at Gosch's Paddock on Friday morning.

Burns had been in some doubt after missing the Magpies last two matches with a calf injury, but ran freely after being named in Collingwood's team on Thursday evening.

"I feel really good," he said after the light session. "A solid week at training's always a good sign, and I've been pulling up pretty well.

"So unless I wake up tomorrow walking on eggshells ... I'm confident I'll be playing tomorrow night.

"Any soft-tissue one, you just slowly build up, and when you can get through training and don't notice it or don't feel it – even after you ice, if you don't feel anything there at all, you're doing pretty well.

"I haven't felt it for a week-and-a-half, so I'm really confident – everything's gone to plan, which is great."

Forward Travis Cloke was rested from training earlier in the week and was also impressive on the track, despite claims he was suffering from glandular fever or some other virus.

"He probably wouldn't be out here if he had glandular fever, but you can keep using that one, yeah, Trav might not play," Burns said with a laugh.

"If you had a virus, you wouldn't even be training today.

"He just freshened up a bit – it was pretty warm over there in Adelaide, and he covered a fair few Ks.

"He's a pretty important member of our team, so we just wanted to freshen him up and make sure he's right tomorrow night.

"We just really want him to be light-legged when we start tomorrow night."

Another player with an injury concern was Simon Prestigiacomo, but the veteran defender showed no signs of the sore shoulder he picked up in the win over Adelaide last week, just his second game of the year after coming into the side in round 22.

"He's obviously trained pretty well, so I think he'll play," Burns said.

"It's obviously not a soft-tissue type of thing, so we need him – he's a pretty important player in terms of that complete stopper, so we want him to play, absolutely.

"I don't see why he wouldn't be – he's trained well and he's certainly starting in the team this morning."
