Young tough-nut Matt Thomas will be unavailable for the next six weeks after injuring his knee while playing for Norwood on the weekend.

Thomas missed Port Adelaide’s loss to Hawthorn through suspension after playing four consecutive games for the Power. He resumed playing in the SANFL on the weekend but injured the medial ligament in his knee.

The club estimates Thomas will not be available again until Round 17.

Centre half-back Troy Chaplin is still one or two weeks from resuming after breaking his foot against Melbourne in Round 6.

Chaplin told Power fans in ‘Power Talk’, available at PortAdelaideFC.com.au, he hoped to play for Sturt during the Power’s off-weekend (between Rounds 12 and 13).

Midfielder Tom Logan has been cleared to play again this weekend after a persistent ankle injury.

Key forward Ryan Willits strained his quadricep muscle while training with new SANFL club West Adelaide last week which kept him out of West’s loss to South on Saturday.

The Power injury list for the week beginning Monday 11 June is as follows...

Troy Chaplin (foot) – 1-2 weeks
Tom Logan (ankle) – available
Daniel Motlop (broken collarbone) – 2-3 weeks
Matt Thomas (knee) – 6 weeks
Ryan Willits (quadricep) – test
