Over 200 hundred eager children braved the rain to join the Fremantle players for an AFL Auskick Gala Day on Templestowe Reserve in Victoria on Sunday.

The clinic was a great opportunity for children aged 6 to 12 to learn important footy skills from some of the AFL’s biggest stars, including Matthew Pavlich, Jeff Farmer and Josh Carr.

Even the club’s mascot, Johnny ‘The Doc’ Docker was there to lend a helping hand with the activities as the children were run through the integrated skills session in a relaxed and fun environment.

Autographs were also well sought after by the Fremantle fans with the players happily signing posters and memorabilia at the conclusion of the clinic.

The morning was a great success and also provided the opportunity for Victorian members and supporters to head to Templestowe to meet the Fremantle players.

The motivation for the event was to launch an official partnership with the Templestowe Park Primary School Auskick Centre, Donvale Primary School Auskick Centre, The Doncaster Heights Junior Football Club and the Templestowe Park Football Club, with all groups forming a pathway alliance with the Fremantle Football Club.

Fremantle and the Templestowe community have agreed on an affiliation which sees the club’s wear the Fremantle strip for the season with the jumpers being sponsored by Fremantle’s Gold Level Sponsor Members Equity Bank (MEB).

MEB sponsor Fremantle’s “Adopt our Jumper” programme which encourages junior football clubs and Auskick centres to adopt the Fremantle playing jumper as their club colours and clubs who undertake the commitment then become an aligned junior football club to Fremantle, as is the case in Templestowe.

Thanks to MEB, a special presentation of a framed and signed guernsey was made to each of the clubs in recognition of their partnership with the Fremantle Football Club.

Fremantle faithful, both young and old enjoyed the morning at Templestowe Reserve and made Fremantle feel very welcome in Victoria! Thanks to everyone who braved the weather and came to the Gala Day.
