A gigantic tank at SA Brewing on Port Rd will feel the full force of Port Adelaide's heritage from Tuesday night.

To add to this week’s Heritage Round celebrations, the Port Adelaide Football Club will project the traditional black-and-white ‘prison bar’ image on one of the Brewery tanks (located on the corner of Port Road and Adams Street).

The prison bar stripes will be joined by the wording 'PAFC 1870', providing a strong reminder of the club's great heritage to the large volumes of traffic that flow past the Brewery.

It was no coincidence that the Port Adelaide Football Club chose to launch its 2007 Heritage Guernsey, a replica of the 1977 Premiership Guernsey, at The South Australian Brewing Company.

SA Brewing and the West End brand have been associated with football in South Australia for more than half a decade. SA Brewing has also had a long and successful partnership with the Port Adelaide Football Club, and is currently a Premier Partner of the club.

What’s more, winning SANFL Premiership teams have traditionally headed to the Brewery on the Monday following the premiership to unveil their colours on the chimney. It was a tradition inspired by Fos Williams and one which the 1977 Premiership team fully enjoyed. In fact, Port Adelaide has made that trip down Port Road to enjoy the post-premiership festivities more than any other team.

Heritage Week provides a wonderful opportunity for past and present players, coaches, and administrators, as well as supporters to reflect on the journey of the Port Adelaide Football Club since 1870.

The club encourages all supporters to get along to the Brewery, view the lights and soak up the atmosphere. It will light up for the first time on Tuesday night.
