While the Lions will feature just once at their Gabba home over the next month, Victorian members and supporters will be able to watch the team live in person on three occasions.
The Club’s string of Melbourne matches starts this Sunday when the Lions face the Western Bulldogs at Etihad Stadium. The team will then play Melbourne the following the week (Sunday 10 April) at the MCG.
The Club encourages all Victorian-based members and supporters to get along to these upcoming matches and show their support at these away matches.
If you are still intending on signing up as a Lions Victorian member for 2011, we strongly suggest you consider doing so prior to Sunday’s match against the Bulldogs because it promises to be a big month of footy for Lions fans in Melbourne.
A membership marquee will be in operation on the Bourke Street footbridge (near Gate 3) at Etihad Stadium from 11am this Sunday for fans to sign up. Members who sign up on the day will receive a free general admission ticket for the match while their actual 2011 membership card will be printed in time for the following week’s game against the Demons.
The Club will also be holding a FREE aftermatch function for Lions fans this Sunday in the Victory Room at Etihad Stadium. The event will commence immediately after the final siren (approx 3:45pm) and will feature some special guest speakers including some of the Lions players.
There are a range of other Victorian events coming up throughout April including the new premiere match-day function The Kevin Murray Club (held at every Melbourne match this season) as well as the 2001 Premiership Tribute Luncheon on Friday 29 April.
Please contact the Brisbane Lions Victorian office on 03 8850 5600 or email melbourne@lions.com.au should you have any questions surrounding our matches and upcoming events or matches in Melbourne.
