Port Adelaide has cleared Kane Cornes and Troy Chaplin of serious damage in the wake of the Power’s tight win over Melbourne on Sunday. Both could be OK to play Richmond on Saturday.

Cornes was concussed during the final term against the Demons. He stayed away from the club on Monday, still feeling the effects of the heavy knock to the head.

However he is expected to resume training on Wednesday and all going to plan, will be right to face the Tigers.

Young key defender Chaplin had scans on the foot he also injured in the final term of Sunday’s game. Despite fearing it may have been broken, the scans revealed no structural damage to the foot and Chaplin could be right to go as soon as this weekend.

Steven Salopek will be a good chance to resume this weekend after a week off with tightness in his hamstring.

The Power’s official injury list for the week beginning Monday 7 May is as follows...

Dean Brogan (ankle) – test
Kane Cornes (concussion) – test
Troy Chaplin (foot) – test
Jonathan Giles (knee) – test
Tom Logan (ankle) – 1 week
Steven Salopek (hamstring) – test
Michael Wilson (pectoral) – 5 weeks
