Hey Choco, Another great away win! Were Lade and Brogan instructed to jump earlier or was the hard centre wicket producing more bounce than they expected (or could get used to!)? Cheers, keep working hard for each other... Keith

MARK WILLIAMS: The Gabba trust won’t let us practice on the centre of the Gabba so we have no idea how high it will bounce so it makes it very difficult for the players to get any sort of routine (with their jumping). It is completely different to all the other grounds around Australia. So although we kicked a lot of goals, we definitely lost a lot of clearances. The ruckmen did as good as they could.

mark, seeing justin westhoff play on the weekend, and previous weeks really made me think high about him. But does he need to put to much muscle on, considering he might lose his speed.
lee

MARK WILLIAMS: He’s already put on quite a bit of strength and size since he’s been at the club and he’ll continue to do that. Our fitness people work pretty closely with him. The idea is to increase his power without reducing his speed and agility. It will be a bit of a challenge for us but he’s a very willing worker so I’m sure we’ll get there.

Chocco, excellent win – well done. Kane Cornes shut down a key midfielder in Simon Black. Although it didn’t do much good for my dream team score, it was a great sacrifice for the team. How did you rate his game?
J Ament

MARK WILLIAMS: He had a job where he had to concentrate on one of the best players in the AFL – a Brownlow Medallist – and kept him right out of the game while still playing a vital role for us so it was a job well done. He gets a lot of accolades for that performance within the team even though some outside the team that don’t follow it as closely overlook his job and efforts.

Hi Mark, congrats on the great form of the team this year. How’s it sitting with you all to be 8 and 5?
Michael Jarvis

MARK WILLIAMS: The football staff and players are happy to be still in the mix at this time of the year. This time last year we were struggling and finals seemed a long way away whereas now we are giving ourselves a realistic chance to make it. We are fully focused on developing our players. We’ll give players opportunities to play and learn different roles and different ways that we want to play. That way, in the very near future we will be giving ourselves the best chance to win our next premiership.
