WESTERN Bulldogs veteran Scott West's anticipated return from a knee injury has hit another hurdle, ruled out of representing VFL side Williamstown on Saturday afternoon.
West made a return in the VFL last weekend and, while proppy, got through the match and won plenty of the ball.
The Bulldogs released a statement on Saturday morning advising that West's knee soreness had returned and that he will resume training on Monday.
The 33-year-old has not played since round six, missing the majority of the Bulldogs' successful season that has produced 15 wins and a draw from 21 matches.
Forward Robert Murphy said during the week that the Bulldogs are looking forward to having West back in the side.
"When you include someone like Scotty West into the side, it would give any team a boost," he said.
"We'd be rapt to have him back and it looks like we won't have to wait too much longer."
West is third on the Bulldogs' games record list with 324, with only Chris Grant (341) and Doug Hawkins (329) playing more.
