The Coburg Football Club seeks the services of a General Manager to consolidate its existing sponsor and supporter base at Coburg while leading an expansion throughout our region.
Steeped in history as one of the Victorian Football League’s oldest clubs, Coburg Football Club is entering a new era with a strategic plan that includes expansion through an alignment with Hume City Council resulting from 2010 in a minimum of five home games played at Highgate Reserve, Craigieburn in one of Melbourne’s key growth corridors.
Reporting to the club’s Board of Directors, the successful applicant will also be expected to continue to build the relationship with our AFL aligned partner, Richmond Football Club and our TAC cup alignment with Calder Cannons.
Key responsibilities of the role will include:
- Financial management, region development, sponsorship, marketing and media liaison.
- Maintenance and responsibility for the relationship with Football Victoria and the required rules and conduct of the club
- Management and direction of staff (where applicable) and coordination with general activities on match day.
- Supporting the Football department through the Football Manager, coaching and support staff.
While experience in football administration is desirable, it is imperative that the successful applicant be a self-starter and highly organised. Excellent communication skills and the ability to engage with key sponsors and supporter groups are essential.
