North Melbourne tough-man Scott Thompson has shown his softer side by becoming the club’s official ambassador to the Compass Clubhouse, a centre for adults who have experienced an Acquired Brain Injury (ABI).

“Our new partnership will support Compass Clubhouse members and will build awareness of ABI within the community,” Thompson told kangaroos.com.au.

Located in High Street, Northcote, the Compass Clubhouse offers a place for those with an ABI to come and establish meaningful friendships and become involved in meaningful work.

“I’m delighted to be involved and will be visiting the Clubhouse throughout the coming year. There will also be an opportunity for the members to come to our new facility at Arden Street and become more involved with the Kangaroos.”

The philosophy and governance of the Compass Clubhouse encourages self-determination, self-confidence and self-worth. Members are involved in all levels of decision-making, including future directions of the Clubhouse.

“It’s fantastic that our players take the time out of their busy schedules and invest in programs and organisations like the Compass Clubhouse,” said North chief Executive Eugene Arocca.
