It should be an intriguing count when the votes are tallied for the Bob Skilton Medal at this year’s Club Champion function.

Last year was a season for the Swans’ young guns, when Kieren Jack just pipped Shane Mumford for the Bob Skilton Medal, with Josh Kennedy making a late charge to claim third best and fairest.

The voting was tight and tense, with Jack eventually polling 553 votes, Mumford 545 and Kennedy, who also won the Paul Roos Award for Best Player in the Finals, polling 542.

This year the count is sure to be just as exciting. Will dual Brownlow Medallist and co-captain Adam Goodes win his third club best and fairest? Can Kennedy, one of the team’s most consistent performers this year, do better than he did in 2010? Or will it be the year for Ryan O’Keefe, who previously won the Medal in 2009?

Who do you think will win the Bob Skilton Medal in 2011? Leave your comments below telling us who you think will win and why.

It’s one of the best nights on the Swans Events calendar, and the perfect way to review season 2011 and celebrate the achievements of both the team and individual players. There are great seats still available for the function on Friday October 7, at the Sydney Convention and Exhibition Centre.

Apart from the Bob Skilton Medal, other awards on the night will include the Paul Kelly Players’ Player Award (won by Goodes last year), the Dennis Carroll Award for Most Improved Player (won by Mike Pyke in 2010) and the Rising Star Award, which was snapped up by Dan Hannebery last year.
