Sydney Swans forward Henry Playfair has a stress fracture in his lower back, sustained during Sunday’s match against Richmond.
Playfair felt pain during the second quarter and was not able to return to the field after half time.
Swans physiotherapist Matt Cameron said a bone scan today revealed an acute stress fracture, which would take six to eight weeks to heal.
Playfair said the injury was disappointing and he was still trying to ascertain what it means for this season.
In other injury news, it has been confirmed Daniel Bradshaw suffered a grade one hamstring strain at training last Friday. That injury will keep him out of action for two to three weeks.
