Collingwood’s Andrew Krakouer was not expecting to take out this year’s 2011 AFL Mark of the Year.
Krakouer received the award at the All Australian dinner last night for his round nine pack mark effort against Adelaide.
“It was a bit unexpected,” Krakouer told CTV on Tuesday morning.
“I thought ‘Walks’ (Andrew Walker) might have had it because his mark was pretty good.
“But I am very happy with the result.”
Krakouer thought his mark was deemed this year's best due to the contested situation against multiple teammates and opponents.
“Maybe (it won) because it was a pack mark.
“There were some great marks out there this year.”
