It should be a nice change this Sunday afternoon when we run out for a rare day game at the Gabba.

There a few differences in playing games during the day rather than at night - one is obviously the sun and the light and the other is the weather. But considering it’s still winter, I can’t imagine it will get too warm up here in Brisbane.

It’s actually the first time I’ve ever played in a day game here at the Gabba and I’m really looking forward to it. I’ve played my fair share of day games since joining the Lions, but they’ve always been when we’re travelling.

Back in the old days when I was playing junior footy as a youngster you always played at daytime so it will be good to sort of get back to the roots of footy.

My preparations for a night game at home usually involve a bit of a walk in the morning, then some tucker around lunchtime, maybe a snooze afterwards and then I watch the afternoon game before heading into the Club.

I’m probably going to have to think back to when I was younger and try and remember what I did when I played home games during the day.

I’ll probably just have a little bit of brekkie in the morning and then another bite to eat for lunch before I get to the Club.

My normal brekkie is just the old tin of spaghetti on toast. My girlfriend is a really good cook and will sometimes whip up some eggs on toast, but I like the stock standard stuff.

Before the game I usually listen to my iPod which has a bit of everything really. I’m a Temper Trap fan and I like a bit of Phoenix but I don’t mind whatever’s going around. I’m not that fussy when it comes to music.

The feeling around the Club has been pretty good after getting a win last week. Training today was really upbeat and there’s a bit more confidence going around the place, but it hasn’t changed our preparations heading into this game.

The Crows are a really good team but if everyone plays their role and how Vossy wants us to play, then we should get the win.

It’s meant to be a nice day on Sunday so I hope everyone can get down to the Gabba to hopefully watch us have a good win in the sun. Fans will be able to stick around afterwards and have a kick-to-kick on the ground as well if they like.
