As part of the exhibit of the Club Chronology, the latest visual edition to the Hawks Museum is a collection of cartoon drawings that feature the 34 captains of Hawthorn since joining the VFL in 1925.

From Jim Jackson the first captain to Sam Mitchell, the 34th captain who lead the team to a premiership in his first year in the role of captain.  The various captains have been depicted by some of the leading cartoonists of the day, Wells, Gurney and including the very popular Weg who drew Ritchie Vandenberg and Sam Mitchell shortly before he passed away.

There are four captains that the Hawks Museum is still seeking cartoon drawings of, Pat Burke 1926, Clarrie Lethean 1927, and Bert Sutton and Miles Sellers, both 1928.
If anyone can help with any of the missing cartoons please contact the hawksmuseum@hawthornfc.com.au

There are plans ahead for these drawings to be released as a set of Football Cards in 2010
