SATURDAY night’s top-of-the-ladder clash between Geelong and Collingwood will be shown live on television into Melbourne on Saturday night.

Channel 10 announced on Tuesday that it would broadcast the round 19 contest between the two clubs live.

Last time the teams met - in round nine on a Friday night - Channel 7 decided it would go live with the game.

On that night, a crowd of 88,115 turned up at the MCG to see the Cats edge the Magpies by 36 points.

At that stage the teams also sat at the top of the table.

With less than a month until the finals this weekend’s match is generating more interest as Collingwood, aiming for its first premiership in 20 years, gains momentum on the run to September.

The AFL has advised that tickets to the match are selling extremely strongly.

A limited number of seats remain available in both the AFL Reserve and the public section of the ground.

The AFL is encouraging all fans to purchase a ticket in advance to avoid disappointment, as well as to avoid entry queues on the night.

Tickets are currently on sale through Ticketek on 132 849, at any Ticketek outlet or online at ticketek.com.au.

The MCC also advises those attending the MCG on Saturday night to allow plenty of time to arrive at the stadium and to take public transport where possible.

Public and AFL gates will open at 5.00pm and the MCC Members Reserve will open at 4.30pm.
