Jason Laycock, Andrew Welsh, Mark McVeigh, Kyle Reimers and Hayden Skipworth are all chances to make the trip to Queen Elizabeth Oval this weekend and return from their respective injuries in the Bombers' affiliate side.
Laycock and Reimers have been absent the longest, with the former missing since round 20 last year and the latter since round 18.
Ruckman Laycock has been battling problems with his navicular bone and has undergone two bouts of surgery in a bid to have the troublesome injury corrected.
Reimers missed the end of last season with hamstring problems and has been sidelined with quad tendonitis this year.
Welsh is also in line to make his 2009 debut after recovering from a horrific ankle sustained in a pre-season intra-club match at Whitten Oval.
The 26-year-old dislocated his ankle and broke part of his leg bone back in February, and suffered a further scare last week when he tore scar tissue surrounding the site of the injury.
However, along with the hamstrung Skipworth, who has been missing since hurting himself in round four, Welsh is listed on the club's website as likely to play this Sunday if all things go to plan.
Experienced midfielder Mark McVeigh is also in line to play this weekend at either VFL or AFL level, after overcoming the ankle injury he picked up in his first game for the year in round four against North Melbourne.
Veteran defender Dustin Fletcher remains several away from resuming from his fractured fibula sustained in round six.
Young midfielder John Williams will miss another two weeks after breaking a finger in the VFL the weekend before last, but former Cat Brent Prismall will play a full game this weekend after successfully getting through his second match back from a knee reconstruction.
Prismall, 22, played 80 minutes of the weekend's game (up from the 60 minutes he played the week before). He remains on track to return to the AFL in round 10.
