Tomorrow night the Saints will play their 100th game at Telstra Dome against the Blues. St Kilda played their first game at the stadium against Sydney in Round 1 of the 2000 season and of that original playing squad, Lenny Hayes, Robert Harvey and Max Hudghton are the only remaining Saints players to still be part of the current St Kilda list. All three players will line up in tomorrow night’s Round 2 clash against Carlton at 7.10pm.

Back in 2000 when the Saints played their first home game at the Dome, Tim Watson was coach, Nathan Burke was captain and Barry Hall lined up at full forward. That same year Andrew Thompson won the Club’s best and fairest, Peter Everitt was the leading goal-kicker and Andrew Plympton was President.

St Kilda’s membership tally in 2000 was 17,855 and the Saints had 4,946 Social Club members and 7,427 Reserved Seat members. In 2007, St Kilda signed up 8,149 Social Club members and 9,334 Reserved Seat members. The average crowd attendance at Telstra Dome in 2000 was 24,689 in comparison to the 2007 season, where St Kilda’s average crowd attendance was 40,696.

In 2008 to date, the Saints currently have 28,431 members, which is a 10% increase from the same time last year. In their 100th game at Telstra Dome, the Saints will also celebrate new recruit Adam Schneider’s 100th game and aim for its tenth straight win over the Blues since 2002.
