Geelong ruckman Steven King has maintained his unblemished playing record after being cleared by the VFL tribunal on Tuesday night.

King was reported in Saturday’s clash with Casey for tripping late in the fourth quarter. The incident looked innocuous, however the umpire laid a report. Under VFL rules, King would have faced a one match ban had he pleaded guilty.

The former skipper took his case to the tribunal and was cleared after a short deliberation.

King has played 189 AFL games, 18 NAB Cup and 27 reserves matches for the Cats without incurring a suspension.
