Witness a Collingwood hero sweat over a metre long putt and watch in amazement as the drive from the deadly goal kicker disappears into the rough at the Bob Rose Memorial golf day.

Get a group of your mates together and rub shoulders with many of the greats of the Collingwood Football Club, as you roam Spring Valley GC, in an attempt to wrestle the trophy out of Kevin Rose’s grip.

Last year, Kevin Rose and his group won the trophy, and will be looking to repeat their efforts this year.

It was a great pleasure for the Collingwood FC Past Players Association to be able to donate over $10,000 since 2005 to the Robert Rose Foundation.

The CFCPPA invites all Collingwood Past Players, Collingwood supporters and their friends to play in the fourth annual Bob Rose Memorial Golf Day, to be held at the Spring Valley Golf Club in Clayton South on Friday, 17th September 2008.  Spring Valley Golf Club was Bob’s home course, where he enjoyed friendly competition with his many friends and team-mates.

You can arrange a group with your team-mates or friends or enter as an individual.  Last year, 23 past players played with another 44 supporters/friends.  This year we expect to field 100 golfers in the event.

This tournament gives you the opportunity to celebrate the memory of one of Collingwood’s most dynamic and respected players and assist two causes that were dear to Bob’s heart – The Robert Rose Foundation and the Collingwood FC Past Players Association.

The Bob Rose Memorial Golf Day will be widely promoted in the golfing community and we are confident that the response will ensure a capacity field – SO BOOK NOW!!

The CFCPPA is also seeking prizes and auction items for this golf day, so if you can assist in this way, your donation will be greatly appreciated.  If you have any queries, please contact Brian Beers on 04 0304 7540 or email (keith.burns@aflvic.com.au) after 11th October.
