There’s nothing better than good food to bring people together.
Cultural Diversity Week runs from 21-27 March, culminating with Harmony Day on the Sunday. To celebrate this event, Hawthorn’s Community department invited all staff to bond over a lunch of dishes from different parts of the world.
On Tuesday 22 March, all staff were encouraged to bring in a plate of food that reflects their cultural background, make their favourite ethnic dish or try their hand at a new recipe from another country.
Multicultural cuisine on offer included mouth-watering Maltese meatballs, Italian lasagna, an Indian butter chicken and good old Aussie sausage rolls just a few of the many dishes that helped celebrate our diversity at Hawthorn Football Club.
During Cultural Diversity Week, Victorians come together to share aspects of their culture, faith and language and celebrate the benefits multiculturalism brings to our state. Through this interaction, the Club endeavours to maintain a harmonious community built on understanding, acceptance and mutual respect.
