The 19 year old had tongues wagging last year shortly after being drafted to the Kangaroos when he blitzed the field in pre-season training and ran close to a club record over the famous 3.2 kilometer route.
Keen to hold onto the mantle as North’s best runner, Bastinac has returned in prime condition and crossed the line a few seconds ahead of defender Nathan Grima.
Brayden Norris finished in third place and was surprisingly followed closely by Jamie Macmillan.
Lachie Hansen rounded out the top five and finished within 15 seconds of Bastinac.
Ben Cunnington seems to have dramatically improved his endurance slicing around 45 seconds off the time he set on his first run last year while Ed Lower also ran a personal best for his corresponding run.
New comers Cameron Richardson and Ben McKinley also impressed with solid performances.
A number of players did not participate in the run including Andrew Swallow, Levi Greenwood, Lindsay Thomas, Brent Harvey, Daniel Pratt, Brady Rawlings and Drew Petrie.
The players leave for a high-performance training camp in Utah on Friday - for all the latest camp information and updates from November 3 check:
