A gritty 14-point win over West Coast encouraged the best in some players, which Harvey hopes will continue this weekend even though his side is the clear favourite.
"Dealing with being favourites doesn’t faze us at all," Harvey said. "It's all about us going about how we need to beat the opposition.
"Terry has been a great coach over a long period of time, you never know where he's coming from with his tactics and he's very hard to read."
Veteran Peter Bell will play his 277th AFL match on Sunday, overtaking West Coast great Glen Jakovich and equalling former Collingwood captain Wayne Richardson's record of the most VFL/AFL appearances by a West Australian.
Harvey cannot speak highly enough of Bell, who has played 153 matches for Fremantle and has made an important contribution this season while living in the coastal town of Geraldton – just over 400km north of Perth.
"It's a fantastic achievement for Peter Bell and he overtakes Glen Jakovich, who played 276," Harvey said. "Knowing where Peter has come from and how hard he's had to fight for a career, it's a significant achievement. His performances have been to what I expected so far and he's silenced a lot of critics.
"He's more than happy with everything right now and is mentally better than ever, but we have played the last two at home and are still here this week, so down the track we will see how he goes."
Key position player Luke McPharlin, forward Chris Tarrant and midfielder Garrick Ibbotson were all late withdrawals from the weekend's derby, but Harvey expects McPharlin to return on Sunday from a bruised hip.
Ibbotson played for East Fremantle on Sunday and is available, but the fitness of Tarrant - returning from a back injury - is uncertain.
Hard nut Dean Solomon is expected to return from suspension, while Shaun McManus is also due back from a calf strain.
"Chris (Tarrant) has trained on Monday and this morning, will do so again Thursday and we will see how he is," Harvey said. "He has been taken out of contact drills at the moment and we will see if he's coping with the injury.
"We also have six or seven players that are coming back in the next week or two that will put pressure on the guys in the side. Hopefully that brings the best out of the group and I know it will.
"(Chris) Mayne and (Rhys) Palmer are putting pressure on those guys and that's what we need. Both are lifting the team when we need that, which is a terrific sign and I can't speak highly enough of those kids."
After the loss to Hawthorn in round two, Harvey recognised David Mundy and Michael Johnson needed to perform against West Coast, and they did. So too did utility player Paul Duffield after two best on ground performances for South Fremantle.
"I was happy with how Mundy and Johnson responded," Harvey said.
"Paul Duffield and Byron Schammer were also very good and Brett Peake evolved as the game went on. They are the guys that need to stamp their authority in the team."
