The Swans Reserves had a 142 point win over third placed Eastlake on Saturday in a game that despite the result, started reasonably evenly.

Swans produced a 20 points lead by quarter time with Adam Prior and Luke Vogels strong across half forward.

Eastlake scored two majors at the start of the second quarter but from the seven minute mark of the term the Swans took control, dominating in the ruck and across half back.

Nick Davis kicked four goals by half time whilst Andrew Ericksen and Simon Phillips contributed two each.

The Swans’ control of the game continued into the third term with Ben Matthews, returning from twice injuring his calf in an interrupted season, displaying fine form.

David Spriggs playing on ball and Davis kicking his fifth saw the Swans take complete command of the quarter.

Josh Willoughby also kicked two goals and Ericksen kicked his third by three quarter time.

The Swans continued to run over Eastlake in the final term with Davis kicking another two goals to take his tally to seven, Willoughby kicked his third and Ericksen his fourth.

In addition to the best on ground performances of Spriggs, Matthews and Davis, Ericksen controlled the ruck and forward line and Thornton was a strong contributor across half back.

Tim Schmidt also made an impact playing on ball while James Wall strengthened the back line.

The Swans Reserves now face Belconnen in a battle between first and second position on the ladder on Saturday 26 August at 3.10pm at Telstra Stadium in the curtain raiser to the Sydney Swans v Brisbane Lions game.
