Carlton will play three first gamers in Thursday night’s season opener against Richmond at the MCG.

Lachie Henderson and Brock Mclean, who both joined the Club during last season’s exchange period, will play their first games for Carlton, as will Robert Warnock, who joined the Blues at the end of the 2008 season.

Brett Ratten confirmed to CFC TV on carltonfc.com.au on Wednesday that Andrew Carrazzo will take the position of acting captain for the Round One clash in what will be his 100th AFL game.

Defender Bret Thornton will also notch up a milestone as he plays his 150th game.

Tom Grant - Life Member - passed away in January

Kevin Clarke - played 57 games for Carlton between 1956-1959 - passed away in October last year

Clen Denning - played three seasons for Carlton for 18 games (1935 to 37) - passed away in November

Ken McKaige - former player who played 8 games and was a member of the 1953 Reserves premiership - passed away in late September

The Club has also deemed it appropriate for the players and on-field staff to wear black armbands   as a mark of respect for:

Geoff McClure - Journalist, who passed away last week

And 

June Middleton - life long Carlton supporter who lived in an iron lung for over 60 years,  who passed away late last year
