KEY FORWARD Travis Cloke has brought the Collingwood supporters to life by bombing a 65m goal midway through the first quarter of the Grand Final against Geelong.

The Magpies had only one behind to their name when Cloke marked the ball on the half-forward flank at the Ponsford Stand end.

Cloke looked inside 50 but had no one to kick to, so he had a shot himself.

After the Sherrin left his boot it looked to be sailing through for a point, but it curved late and went right through for a goal.

The Collingwood stronghold at the southern end of the ground erupted, and the Magpies were suddenly just seven points down.

At that stage of the game, Cloke was Collingwood's best player. He already had four possessions and four marks to his name.

Cloke kicked another goal late in the first quarter, and early in the second term he bombed his third, from near the boundary line, in front of the Olympic Stand.

That effort was his best as the left-footer was kicking from the left forward flank.

Like his first effort, the kick started to the right of the goals before swinging back and sneaking through.

At that stage of the game, the 24-year-old was certainly having the better of his Geelong opponent Harry Taylor.

In fact, Tom Lonergan took over from Taylor after Cloke put through his third major.
