COLLINGWOOD is in no rush to extend deals with some of its biggest names despite a cashed-up Greater Western Sydney looming.

The Giants, armed with a blank chequebook, could target any of high-profile Pies Dane Swan, Scott Pendlebury or Dale Thomas - all of whom come out of contract at the end of the 2011 AFL season.

But Collingwood football manager Geoff Walsh said he wasn't worried by the prospect of GWS.

"They're contracted until the end of next year, so that's it; there's no negotiations," Walsh told SEN on Monday morning.

"They're three key players. As far as we know they want to remain playing footy with Collingwood and it's obvious that we want to retain them.

"We'll get to that in due course."

With the Giants entering the competition in 2012, Swan, Pendlebury and Thomas could each expect a healthy pay rise with their next deal.

The trio enjoyed a one-two-three finish at the Pies' Copeland Trophy count last week, with Swan winning his third straight best and fairest award.

Pendlebury, the youngest of the bunch, earned the Norm Smith Medal in his side's grand final victory and was just behind Swan in Brownlow Medal voting, while Thomas had his best-ever season.

Collingwood will enjoy some salary-cap relief with the retirements and departures of veterans Josh Fraser, Paul Medhurst, Tarkyn Lockyer and Simon Prestigiacomo.

But their standout 2010 will ensure several players deserve healthy pay rises in coming seasons, and rival clubs may be ready to pounce.

However Walsh said he wasn't particularly concerned by the League's 18th franchise.

Asked if the Giants' presence in the market place made the Pies' need to re-sign players more urgent, the Collingwood football manager simply replied: "No, mate".

"GWS have got all these opportunities, I'm sure they'll take up a number of them as the Gold Coast did."

Meanwhile, Collingwood hopes to create Australian television history on Monday.

The Pies need more than 3000 fans to feature in the club's 'March to October' membership campaign, and are inviting fans to Gosch's Paddock from 4.30pm.
