The mind games are well and truly under way ahead of Melbourne’s Elimination Final against St Kilda, with Melbourne’s Cameron Bruce believing that the pressure is all on St Kilda.

Bruce, talking before Melbourne’s training session on Thursday, said that St Kilda “has as much pressure on them”, adding that “they have been flag favorites now for the past three years”.

Bruce’s comments would seem to stem from St Kilda Coach Grant Thomas’ comments earlier this week, after he said that there is “enormous pressure on Melbourne”.

In the only match played between the two sides this year, at the MCG, Melbourne ran out victors by 13 points in a physical contest, which left Thomas to admit after the game that his side was “out-toughed” by a Melbourne side which was “much harder at the footy”.

This time around, both coaches will have their men going fiercely at the footy, and it’s fair to say that before the bounce we might see a little bit of 'push and shove'.

Mind games and comments aside, the one certainty is that Friday night under lights at the ‘G will be a cracker. Finals footy brings pressure footy, and both teams will be ready!
