The SANFL is seeking to appoint an energetic and self-driven person to join the Game Development department in the role of Development Officer for the Glenelg Football Club metropolitan zone.

This role presents an exciting opportunity to join the premier State League and governing body for Australian Rules Football in South Australia. The Development Officer is a full time position and will suit people with a strong desire to deliver the very best experience for junior participants. The successful candidate will use their people skills to work with the football community in delivering quality, effective programs aimed at increasing participation and interest in the game of Australian football.

Key focus of this position:
The Development Officer will report to the Participation Programs Manager and is responsible for the implementation of participation based programs, coaching programs and affiliated league programs aimed at increasing participation in the game and improving the quality of coaches, administrators and volunteers.

Key accountabilities include:
  • Establishment of close working relationships with key stakeholders, including SANFL and club personnel, school ambassadors, volunteers and affiliated leagues personnel
  • Promotion and implementation of participation programs in schools and junior district clubs 
  • Promotion and facilitation of coach education programs and Australian Football in schools and clubs
  • Reporting and administration ie databases, spreadsheets etc

The position will ideally suit candidates with a sporting background and a tertiary qualification in sport management or related fields.
