Family discount - Full and Silver Members
To be eligible for a family discount, all Members must reside at the same address. There must be two full fee-paying adult Members (with no concessions) and one paying junior Member. Any additional junior Members will receive their subscriptions free of charge providing they have paid their entrance fee in its entirety. The junior Member who chooses the most expensive category is the one whose subscription fee is paid and all other juniors are free of charge.

Please note: the family discount does not apply to the entrance fees, absentee or any members taking the country discount.

To apply for this discount, please staple together all renewal forms and return these to:

AFL Membership
PO Box 5254
South Melbourne Victoria
3205.

Please write 'Family Discount' clearly on the forms of any eligible children.

Students
Membership subscription forms must be accompanied by a photocopy of a stamped receipted 2004 enrolment form from the appropriate education institution or a 2005 student card that clearly states the holder is a full-time student. As many cards do not show this information we then need to have a copy of the receipted enrolment papers. Refunds for student discounts must be lodged by close of business on June 15, 2005. Refund requests received after this time will not be accepted.

Important change: As a student you are able to defer your payment until March 31st 2005 when you will have your concession documentation. If you choose to do this, you will be unable to utilise any of your membership benefits until payment is made.

Pensioners
Pension discounts apply to Members holding pensioner concession cards issued by Centrelink, the Department of Health and Community Services, the Department of Community Services or the Department of Veteran Affairs for: the aged, disability support, war veterans, single supporting parents, disability carers, war widows and TPI. If applying for a pensioner concession for the first time, a photocopy of your pension card must accompany your renewal.

Juniors
To be eligible for a Junior membership of the AFL, Members must be under 17 years of age as at January 1st, 2005. Juniors aged under 6 at the 1st of January do not require an AFL Membership however they cannot access a seat where seats are at a premium.

Country discounts for Full Members living in excess of 180km from the Melbourne GPO
If applying for the country discount for the first time, you will need to supply a statutory declaration, together with proof of residency (for example, copy of your rates notice, gas bill etc.) to establish the authenticity of your address and application.

Absentee subscription - $90.00 adults and $45.00 juniors
Members living or working interstate or overseas for the duration of the 2005 football season may apply for this category. Members must provide in writing on the rear of their renewal form their residential status, along with their signature. The Membership Committee will also consider special individual circumstances and these must be put in writing on the rear of this form, along with signature. Absentee payment must be included. Members will be notified if unsuccessful.

If this criterion is not satisfied, Absentee Membership will not be granted. This decision is at the sole discretion of the AFL.

Part Payments
By selecting the instalments option you have entered an agreement to ensure sufficient funds are available for all instalments. If failure to make a payment occurs, the AFL has the right to suspend membership until payment is made. Instalment payments are only accepted when paying via credit card. Visa, Bankcard and MasterCard only accepted. A once-off $10 administration fee will be added when charging the first instalment.

Subject to capacity
Entry rights for AFL Membership subscribers to all AFL games and International Cricket matches are strictly subject to capacity in the designated AFL Reserve on the day. AFL Membership is not a guaranteed form of entry to any game. Walk-up entry to all games is on a first-come first-served basis including all reserved seated games where walk-up is available. Subject to availability, Members have the opportunity to reserve a seat at all games played at the MCG and Telstra Dome.

Telstra Dome Finals
AFL Members have access to 6000 seats ONLY for any Finals match played at Telstra Dome. This includes 3000 level 1 seats and 3000 level 3 seats.

Finals – Weeks One To Three
The AFL does not make any representation or guarantee that there will be a Final Series match played in Victoria on each of the first three weeks of the Finals Series.

Grand Final tickets
In the event of supply exceeding demand for Grand Final tickets, the AFL reserves the right to market and sell remaining Grand Final tickets first in the AFL reserve to Silver AFL Members and then to the competing club members at the nominated retail price.

Membership cards
The AFL Membership card is issued for personal use only and under no circumstances may any other person use it. Members must sign their card immediately upon receipt.

Lending a card is a breach of the rules and penalties apply. Members will still need to carry their Membership card, even if they have reserved a seat. Signature checks will be carried out regularly at grounds to detect any breach of the regulations. Members may be required to produce identification.

The AFL Membership card remains the property of the AFL.

If a Membership card is lost, the Member is required to provide the AFL with a statutory declaration indicating the Membership card has been lost and must forward the statutory declaration with a payment of $20 to replace the card.

Members who do not have their cards in their possession on match day will be required to pay an entrance fee at the same price as an AFL Members guest pass. No correspondence will be entered into.

2005 Telephone renewals
Members may renew the same package they had in 2004 for the 2005 season over the telephone using the AFL phone service as all existing Member signatures are on file. By renewing over the phone, you are accepting the terms and conditions of AFL Membership.

New Members will be required to fill out a form and provide a signature for file purposes.

Conduct and Stadium rules

Acceptable behavior
Members and their Guests are required to conduct themselves in an acceptable manner at all times within the AFL Reserve. Offensive language and drunkenness will not be tolerated. Any Member behaving in an unacceptable manner will be escorted from the ground and may have his or her Membership cancelled without refund.

Crossover into public section
By order of the MCC, no crossovers are permitted at the MCG when the match-day crowd is expected to exceed 50,000. Members should note that there are no crossover arrangements during International Cricket matches.

Dress standard - AFL Reserve Dining Rooms
All dining rooms within the AFL Reserve at the MCG and Telstra Dome maintain dress standards. The dress standard is neat casual, which means no thongs, shorts, singlets or T-shirts. Appropriate attire is also required in the seating areas.

Members who are not appropriately presented will be denied entry.

Umbrellas
Umbrellas are not permitted to be opened anywhere within the viewing areas of the MCG or Telstra Dome at any time on event day.

Alcohol, Glass and Cans
AFL Members are not permitted to bring alcohol into any AFL venue and must adhere to strict restrictions placed on alcohol consumption in designated areas at all venues.

It should be noted that glass containers are not permitted at any venue and drink cans are not allowed at the MCG or Telstra Dome.

Smoking
The MCG and Telstra Dome are smoke-free venues.

Saving seats
Members may not save seats for late-comers. Attendants are authorised to remove coats, rugs and other items used to save seats.

However, Members must respect the temporary reservation of a seat while a Member who has entered the ground leaves that seat briefly.

Major venues
AFL Membership subscription is based around three venues - MCG, Telstra Dome and Optus Oval.

At all other grounds (for example: Skilled Stadium in Geelong), Members who have selected the Club Support Package may obtain general entry only to their team’s home games. Club Support Package holders whose team is the away side at any of these venues are required to pay the general admission price for entry except for Victorian-based interstate club Members, subject to capacity.

Guest passes
The AFL may make guest passes available for sale to AFL Members. MCG and Telstra Dome guest passes will be sold through all Ticketmaster7 outlets, phone bookings on 1300 888 081. Optus Oval guest passes will be sold at all Ticketek outlets and phone bookings on 13 28 49. Please note, an additional fee applies when booking via telephone.

Guest passes will be sold on a first-come first-served basis until sold out. For some games, guest passes will be available for sale at the gate on match day. For games where a large crowd is expected, Members are advised to pre-purchase to avoid disappointment. If the allocation of guest passes sell-out for a certain game, this will be announced if possible before the game in the AFL Supporters Bulletin in the Herald Sun. The normal limit on the number of guest passes is four per Member, however the AFL reserves the right to vary this number without notice. Once guest passes have been purchased, no refunds will apply.

Important change: with the reduction in capacity again at the MCG in 2005, there may be no guest passes released for some matches in order to ensure the maximum numbers of Members are able to attend.

Junior Members may purchase both adult and junior guest passes subject to availability.

The availability of guest passes for any finals match will be at the discretion of the AFL.

Guest passes may only be available for games played at the MCG, Telstra Dome and Optus Oval subject to restrictions. Note: only 300 guest passes are available at Telstra Dome. Guest passes will not be available for the AFL Grand Final.

Upgrades
Upgrades may be offered to Silver Members from April/May 2005. The number of Silver Members offered an upgrade will be at the discretion of the AFL. The AFL cannot forecast when a Silver Member is to be offered an upgrade. Upgrade offers will be communicated by mail.

Members privacy
Members should note that all Members personal and Membership details are treated with the highest level of confidentiality by the AFL and are not available to third parties.
