SWANS fans have spoken and there is widespread support for Club games record holder and all-time fan favourite Michael O’Loughlin to be inducted into the Swans Hall of Fame at the gala dinner to be held in Sydney on April 30.

Many fans are also keen to see 2005 premiership coach Paul Roos named in the Hall of Fame, as well as former captains Stuart Maxfield and Brett Kirk.

Keep the suggestions coming here …. because a significant number of former players and coaches will be inducted at the dinner at the Bayside Grand Hall of the Sydney Convention Centre on April 30.

Tickets are still available for what will be the highlight of the Sydney Swans Events calendar for 2011. Players who were at the inaugural Hall of Fame dinner in 2009 say it was one of the most moving club events they’ve attended.

The selection committee has chosen 2011 inductees on broad criteria, stating that those chosen must simply have had a ‘’profoundly positive impact on the Swans football club’’ at any time in its 137 year history, and they must be retired.

Swans historian Jim Main, author of the wonderful Club history, In The Blood, has come up with a list of those worthy of induction, taking in the past 137 years since the club was formed in South Melbourne.

Tell us what you think of Jim’s list and don’t forget if you want to be part of an unforgettable night, book tickets here..
