Eugene Arocca has laid down the gauntlet to North Melbourne supporters, submitting his squad of superstars for the club's official Dream Team competition.

In a not so surprising move, the Roos' Chief Executive Officer selected 29 out of 30 players from is own club’s list.

"Obviously I would like to have picked a full team of North Melbourne players but with a requirement to have four ruckmen, it made that dream impossible. In saying that, I'm pretty sure Hamish McIntosh, Drew Petrie and Todd Goldstein will ensure that my team is the eventual winner of the competition," Arocca told kangaroos.com.au

“I can guarantee that the non-North player, whoever it is, won’t be getting any playing time under me. I’ll go in a man down if I have to and still back the Kangaroos’ boys in!”

While some may question the manager of Roogene's Roos about the decision to choose Liam Anthony over Gary Ablett in the midfield, Arocca is confident he made the right choice.

"Liam showed on Sunday in the first round of the NAB Cup that he can win the ball as well as anyone in the league. He finished with 38 possessions and 117 Dream Team points so it was a logical decision to pick him. He’s also a North player which got him over the line at the end of the day. It was more about whether I went with Liam over Jack Ziebell, Leigh Adams and Cruize Garlett…forget Ablett."

To secure the predicted win, Arocca will be relying heavily on North Melbourne's youngsters to carry the load up forward. Ben Warren also started his 2010 campaign strongly on the weekend with 72 points, and Matt Campbell scored 88 playing further up the field.

"Ben has had a fantastic pre-season and should be a starter for all Dream Team coaches. Matt is an excitement machine and a bargain at just over $200k. I don’t want to give away too many tips, but those boys are must haves."

Ben Ross, Todd Goldstein and several other North Melbourne staff members have already joined the competition which has more than 250 teams on board.
