RICHMOND'S Jake King will challenge a two-match suspension for a rough conduct offence against Adelaide's Andy Otten at the AFL Tribunal on Tuesday night.

The Tigers forward was formally charged by the AFL's match review panel on Tuesday morning with a level one engaging in rough conduct offence against Otten in the third quarter of Richmond's win over the Crows last Sunday.

King's previous poor record means a one-match sanction is increased to a two-match penalty, even with a guilty plea.

The Tigers small forward has been charged by the match review panel eight times in the past three seasons, being found guilty on seven occasions and spending five weeks on the sidelines due to suspension.

King appeared happy and at ease as he took part in Richmond's training session at the ME Bank Centre on Tuesday morning.

Before the session, teammate Brett Deledio was keen to support for the feisty forward.

"It's disappointing if we miss Jakey for this week," Deledio said.

"I've been in a defenders meeting and he plays at the other end of the ground, so I haven't spoken to him yet.

"But I'm sure he would be shocked."

Richmond takes on North Melbourne in the final match of the season for each team on Sunday.

Adelaide has denied that it asked the AFL to investigate the alleged incident or supply any video.

Crows football operations manager Phil Harper said, "The incident was mentioned in a discussion with an AFL official late yesterday after the release of the match review panel findings but it was certainly not our intention for any investigation to occur. In fact, we thought it was too late for that."
