GEELONG wants to trade for Richmond star Brett Deledio, says Cats list manager Stephen Wells.
Deledio, 29, is contracted with the Tigers until the end of next season.
"We have an interest in Brett but it's a bit like the speculation around Steven Motlop," Wells told NAB AFL Trade Radio on Monday.
"Brett's a contracted player at Richmond and we fully expect Richmond to want him to play for them."
Motlop is another who has had uncertainty surrounding his position at his current club. He signed a two-year deal with the Cats at the end of last year.
"I expect him to be playing with Geelong next year, but who knows what other clubs will be talking about," Wells said.
North Melbourne free agent Daniel Wells won't be going to the Cats, with strong speculation linking him with Collingwood.
"Daniel won't be joining Geelong," Wells said.
Forward Shane Kersten is out of contract and Fremantle is pursuing him, with the West Australian having met with the Dockers.
"We've had a contract offer on the table for Shane. He's gone to Fremantle and explored his options and we're expecting to hear back from Fremantle and Shane soon," Wells said.
Ruckman Nathan Vardy has attracted the attention of other clubs after playing only one game in the senior team this season.
"There are plenty of clubs interested in Nathan and we're interested in Nathan too. Nathan is going to decide what he's going to and if he wants to stay at Geelong, he'd be welcome," Wells said.
Out-of-contract Cats Tom Lonergan and Daniel Menzel are expected to stay at Geelong, with an announcement on Menzel imminent.
