Laycock, 24, will miss with the foot stress fractures he developed in late 2008, while Stanton, 22, has minor quad tightening.
While Stanton is expected to be available in week two of the pre-season competition, Laycock can expect to spend more time on the sidelines.
The ruckman could even miss the start of the Toyota AFL Premiership season, conceding he might not return to the field until round five after missing a large portion of the Bombers' pre-season.
"It's going very slow, still haven't been able to put in much skills training and I can't sprint yet," Laycock told Tasmanian newspaper The Advocate last week.
"It's very disappointing at this stage that I will miss all of the NAB [Cup] but I'm hoping to be back on the park for round one and [cortisone] injections should help with the training.
"I need to get at least six to eight weeks worth of full-on training to really test out my foot.
"If I don't get back by round one, the long term outlook would be Anzac Day in about round five."
Laycock was in north-west Tasmania on Friday as part of the Bombers' Telstra Community Camps. He attended Ulverstone football club, where he held a training clinic with Andrew Welsh, Angus Monfries and John Williams.
The Bombers are set to be light-on for rucking options for their opening NAB Cup assignment against the Western Bulldogs, with No.1 big man David Hille expected to miss after a limited pre-season.
Potential back-up ruckman Patrick Ryder is also unavailable as he continues to come back from a shoulder complaint.
Second-year tall Tom Bellchambers and possibly new rookie Christian Bock – who measures a towering 205cm but weighs just 82kg – could carry the ruck duties in Darwin next Friday.
