It has been a long day!

After getting to bed after midnight - we went back to the hotel and had a meal after the game against Brisbane - and then got up about 5am Perth time for recovery at the hotel pool, breakfast and then off to the airport.

A flight that took close to six hours and finally we were back in Perth, resting up at home and then getting ready for the preparation to play Port Adelaide at Subiaco Oval this Saturday. It will be good to play at home in front of a parochial crowd this week.

Saturday night at the Gabba did not go according to plan. After a tight struggle for three quarters, we fell away in the last term with Brisbane getting on a bit of a roll with some successive centre clearances which saw them rattle up seven goals for the quarter.

It was disappointing because we were feeling pretty good at three-quarter-time, leading by a couple of points. Unfortunately when the Lions got going we did not match their run and intensity. So we will need to address that this week.

The good thing about the qualifying season is that you do get the chance to atone the following week and that’s the aim against Port.
