Captain Jonathan Brown will be fit and ready to play the Adelaide Crows this Sunday according to Senior Coach Michael Voss.

Speaking at a team training session on Friday morning in Brisbane, Voss eased the nerves of fans declaring that Brown is well on his way to fully recovering from a torn abdominal muscle.

“Browny has made some fantastic headway. I spoke to him this morning and he’s pretty pumped,” Voss said.

However, Voss was a little less certain about fellow spearhead Brendan Fevola who is recovering from the same.

“He’s a day or so behind Browny. We just have to wait at the moment but we’re hopeful,” he said.

Brown and Fevola travelled to Adelaide earlier this week to visit renowned physiotherapist Steve Saunders for intensive treatment.

“They have been able to concentrate on their own bodies this week,” he said about the pair’s scheduled trip to Adelaide.

The Lions are craving a much-needed win over the Crows after slumping to four consecutive losses.

“It’s two teams that are really trying to get their seasons back on track so for us it’s an important game.”

In some other exciting news for the Lions, new recruit Xavier Clarke isn’t far away from a return to football as he recovers from a knee reconstruction.

“We’ve been taking it pretty slow with X (Clarke), he’s had a couple of hiccups along the way but he is tracking along really well at the moment,” Voss said.

“He’s moving around quite well and doing an enormous amount of work so I really hope he gets paid back for the work he has put in.”
