Lions defender Jason Roe has been called-up to the senior side to face the Sydney Swans this Saturday night at the Gabba.

The 25 year-old will play his first match of the regular season - and the 43rd of his career - as the Lions look to break their recent 'hoodoo' against the Swans.

Coincidentally, Roe made his senior debut against Sydney back in 2006 and was directly opposed to Swans spearhead Barry Hall.

Premiership ruckman Jamie Charman has been omitted from the side leaving team-mate Matthew Leuenberger as the only recognised ruckman selected in the side.

Roe's inclusion was the only change made to the team that lost to Carlton by 19 points at Etihad Stadium last weekend.
