The South Metro Junior Football League (SMJFL) is one of the largest independent junior football leagues in Australia with 26 member clubs & over 9000 boys & girls participants playing Australian Rules football across 52 different divisions.
Reporting to the Board and managing a team of 3 full-time & 5 part-time direct reports, the essence of this key appointment is to maintain & advance the SMJFL's reputation as one of the leading community junior sporting organisations in Australia. Working closely with Board you will be responsible for building the SMJFL business, ensuring its future development & success through a range of commercial, sporting & participatory objectives. Constructive stakeholder management is mandatory requiring demonstrated acumen & expertise in dealings with a wide diversity of personality styles in various situations including issue resolution, pro-active problem solving, negotiation & mediation.
This is a unique opportunity for a person currently in sports administration and looking to advance their career, it will appeal if you have a passion for encouraging boys & girl's participation in junior sport - "it's about the kids". To be successful you will be tertiary qualified in business &/or sports management, have proven commercial acumen, strong project management skills, demonstrated ability to engage & lead a volunteer based organisation and above all, an understanding & willingness to be accessible as required.
