As astute fans will be aware the team travelled across the Tasman to visit our neighbour, New Zealand, before Christmas for a Pre-season camp.

Although the rugged terrain and wide open space of Queenstown, N.Z allowed for some intense and varied training that is not all these camps are about.

Senior player, Robert Murphy acknowledged that often the purpose of Pre-season camps is not simply fitness and skill based but is about “cramming as much bonding into a week as possible”, he said.

Playing successful football in today’s competition requires the team to have a connection and there also needs to be strong trust within the group. So when the team weren’t slogging it out in the snowy mountains of Queenstown they were together conquering fears as they leapt out of planes, bungyed of platforms and hit the white water in jet boats.

In the first instalment of Bulldogs TV ‘New Zealand’ you will see some nervous characters as the boys take part in some interesting team building activities - 109 metres off the ground!
