PIZZA and beers were on the menu as Adelaide coach Don Pyke called an impromptu club-wide meeting at his home on Sunday afternoon.
Players and staff gathered as they prepare for an intense final month of the season, staring down the prospect of a second consecutive year missing finals.
Pyke decided on the gathering in the aftermath of the club's loss to Carlton on Saturday afternoon - its fourth defeat in five matches - which has fuelled speculation around his coaching future.
Originally planned as a meeting for the coaching staff, the doors were thrown open to the entire club's playing list.
Pyke has held several casual player meetings at his home in his five-year tenure, however the sudden urgency of Sunday's gathering comes as the Crows' season hangs by a thread.
Sitting in eighth place, ahead of the Western Bulldogs by percentage, the Crows face St Kilda, West Coast, Collingwood and the Dogs in the run home.
Kane Cornes identifies the issues at the Adelaide Football Club, which go far beyond the playing group, he says.

Pyke admitted on Saturday he would need to address the playing group to determine whether the decision to drop Eddie Betts on Thursday had caused disharmony.
"That's something we'll have to discuss," Pyke said following the 27-point loss.
"I don't know whether people perceive that as meaning everyone is on notice. Clearly, that's not the intention behind the selection decisions. It's based on what we think is the best team to play and win games of footy.
"We'll explore that and we'll explore a lot of things. Today, it looked like we were down on energy and down on confidence. Clearly, we're not playing the footy we're capable of.
"We've got to do some analysis and have some conversations and get ourselves ready for St Kilda (next week), because the season is still alive. We'll fight on."
THE RUN HOME Can free-falling Crows save their season?
Betts kicked four goals in the SANFL on Saturday in a team that featured fellow veterans Sam Jacobs, Richard Douglas and Bryce Gibbs.
Collingwood captain Scott Pendlebury revealed on SEN radio on Saturday that the Pies would be holding a similar function to the Crows later that night to arrest a sudden form slump.

The Crows now sit 21-19 since their 2017 Grand Final loss to Richmond which included a nightmare 2018 campaign marred by off-field controversy.
Pyke remains contracted until the end of 2021, having added three years to his existing 2018 contract in the off-season following the 2017 campaign.
