The Crows were strongly linked to Carlton's Andrew Walker but no deal could be struck.
BRISBANE LIONS
West Australian natives Mitch Clark and Daniel Rich were linked with moves back home but nothing came from that and both should continue with the Lions next year.
CARLTON
Andrew Walker didn't get the clean slate he was after. Adelaide, Port Adelaide and the Western Bulldogs all expressed varying levels of interest, but he was left at the altar each time. Bret Thornton and Setanta O'hAilpin were also hoping to reignite their careers elsewhere, but couldn't find new homes.
COLLINGWOOD
Following the retirements of several elder statesmen, Collingwood had few players to play deal with during trade week. Leon Davis and John Anthony had been brought up in trade talk but nothing eventuated. The drama on the final day of trade talk surrounded the uncontracted Travis Cloke. Despite speculation, his father and manager David Cloke said his son would not be traded but said there was a chance Travis could head to the NAB AFL Draft.
ESSENDON
Bachar Houli was the main subject after he expressed a strong desire to move to Richmond. He is now expected to become a Tiger in either the NAB AFL Draft or the NAB AFL Pre-Season Draft. The Bombers weren't major players in trade week given the recent re-signings of Brent Stanton, Leroy Jetta, Alwyn Davey and David Myers.
FREMANTLE
Rhys Palmer was mentioned at stages as potential trade bait, but he will stay with Fremantle. Freo was linked to the Lions' Mitch Clark early in trade week but no deal emerged.
GEELONG
Andrew Mackie was mentioned earlier in the week as potential trade bait but will stay at the Cats now. Ryan Gamble couldn't find a new home and his future is now unclear.
HAWTHORN
Hawthorn had targeted the Bulldogs' Josh Hill throughout trade week and could not pry him loose despite eventually giving in to the Dogs' demand for a pick inside the top 40. Beau Muston, Rick Ladson and Beau Dowler remain at the club for now after attracting little interest.
MELBOURNE
The Demons were never going to be big players in trade week, but they were keen to lure Kangaroos big man David Hale at the right price. Ultimately they were trumped by the Hawks, who coughed up their compensation pick for losing Campbell Brown.
NORTH MELBOURNE
North had been largely silent on any potential players leaving Arden Street. Gavin Urquhart, a former Queenslander, was one mentioned but not strongly. Hale was always touted and the Roos got their deal.
PORT ADELAIDE
Daniel Motlop was seeking a return to Western Australia but should remain with Port Adelaide. Brad Ebert was floated as a chance to make a homecoming the other way. Carlton's Andrew Walker was also linked to the Power.
RICHMOND
Will Thursfield was looking for a new home and spoke to Fremantle but will now remain a Tiger given his contracted status. Essendon's Bachar Houli also wanted in, but that trade fell through in the dying stages of the week.
ST KILDA
The Saints were possibly the lowest profile of all the clubs at trade week. They were one of two clubs not to complete any trades and were never really linked to any. The Saints were the only club to have no representation at Etihad Stadium on the final day of trade week.
SYDNEY SWANS
Paul Bevan was one Swan eager to find a new home, but recruiting manager Kinnear Beatson reported little interest in the tough defender. He is contracted and both player and club are happy for him to stay on in 2011. Jesse White's name was mentioned in trade talk - while fringe dwellers Ed Barlow, Matt O'Dwyer and Dan Currie could be looking for opportunities elsewhere - but nothing came of that.
WEST COAST
Matt Spangher sought a return to Victoria but no trade could be done for him. South Australian midfielder Brad Ebert was also linked to a return home but nothing eventuated.
WESTERN BULLDOGS
Josh Hill was keen on a fresh start at Hawthorn but didn't get there. The Hawks came to the party with the sub-40 pick the Dogs were after at the last minute, but the deal didn't get done. The Bullies didn't have the trade fodder to get Andrew Walker to the club and Will Minson remains a Dog after limited interest.
